Kenya’s WINTER??? 

July 2026 has been relatively cool but August has turned colder. Met experts have affirmed that the El Nino phenomenon is already in place.

Social and environmental optimists suggest that the cold weather in August is good for it will ease or even totally ‘cancel’ the expected El Nino impacts.

And we hopefully pray to God almighty to cancel the phenomenon fully even as we pray for our Nation’s peace, and repent the many sins and crimes we have done and committed as individuals and as a Kenyans as advised by our spiritual leaders.

Moreover, on socio-economic and socio-political fronts the ‘winter’ is apparently quite persistent.

High costs of living are evident and many Kenyans are struggling to make ends meet with the unlucky ones even failing to place a plate on the table /floor and many others even sleeping under the open skies .

Meanwhile, our leaders are busily competing against each other. Citizens’ security is no longer assured especially when leaders’ rallies come to our erstwhile peaceful residencial areas with all the happenings further buttressing the ‘winter’ aura and feelings.

Worse still, deaths from illnesses and other causes have become very frequent in our living areas especially in Nairobi CBD’s peripheral areas including in places such as Waithaka, Ruthimitu, Ungwaru, Uthiru and Kangemi in Dagoretti sub county.

Evidently, given the persistent realities, the question topping the mind of many people in these areas is ‘when will this winter season end?

‘When will God almighty herald our autumn and summer seasons?’
