The amazing power of music🤔…….
Brief music review
Iromo nguhi (short lips) &Â
Jose Gatutura’s kisi imwe (one kiss) songs entertained me earlier today and got me thinking about how amazing creativity really is.
In the ‘Short Lips’ song, the artist (i somehow did not get to hear his name since I was listening to the radio and somehow the presenters did not mention it🤔) is remembering how he got attracted to a woman called Carolina (Carol).
Initially, he found Carol’s smile stunning and very attractive. He won Carol’s heart and they started living together as man and wife. With time, however, he realized that Carol had a dark heart with difference between the woman’s attractive smile and her true character (the heart) being comparable to the distance between earth and the skies (heavens).
Eventually when he made this sad realization, he noticed that what had appeared like an attractive smile was indeed not really a smile.. It is Carol’s lips which were short (Iromo nguhi) a thing which made the woman appear like she was smiling attractively.
The interesting song continues detailing the odds and challenges that the artist is facing but he vows that he shall continue in the relationship…
In ‘One Kiss’ (kisi imwe), Jose expounds how love really has lost essence and meaning meaning to materialism…
To get kissed every other day, he has to provide material things..
… For instance he has to pay house rent and salon charges for his girlfriend to accept to kiss him and just once.
To get kissed another round, he has to provided, for instance cash for the famous chicken & chips (French fries).
Jose continues explaining his ‘to – get – loved and hence kissed woes’ in the interesting and entertaining song and essentially how expensive and costly, almost unachievable, modern – day love has become 🤔
