Professionals and professionals associations, please give back to Society

Personal reflections

Many professionals appear rather conservative and tend hold back useful general knowledge and information from the general public. This perhaps happens for good because such knowledge could be abused. Some unscrupulous people could use such knowledge for fraudulent purposes or even to engage in fake professional and offer counterfeit services.

So when professionals such as doctors, accountants & pharmacists remain very aloof, people can understand. But when some of them get too aloof and even frustrate their clients demonizing quest for answers to troubling issues and even stop any discourses or questions related to the services offered, clients increasingly get alarmed and dismayed…..

The easy availability of information digitally may complicate the situation if the clients opt to search for information and even treatments, for instance, or other services options on their own…

Our Societies will become progressive only when useful general knowledge is shared freely, and with love passion for education of the masses…

My view is that hoarding of any goods, including knowledge, should never happen.. Our elders in Societies also at times tend to be mean with sharing knowledge and information and once they exit the world, the unshared knowledge obviously goes to waste.

In my community, unnecessarily competing with other community members is discouraged especially through a proverb that teaches thus paraphrased, “no matter however many cows or goats are in any given grass /pasture fields, none can take or finish the share meant for the each one of them.”…

My observations were inspired when I listened to Dr Chris Wambui of Healthlink, during a national TV station (inooro TV) morning interview on 7-08-2025….

Though the topic of discus was ‘diseases that emerge and dominate during the cold seasons (also paraphrased)’, he talked on a wide range of health issues and I felt a bit empowered.

For instance, I learnt that a person’s blood group can greatly determine that person health status.

I happen to belong to the B+ blood group and I learnt people in that blood group have high immunity that protects them from many minor diseases… That the immunity can also misbehave leading to various auto Immune condition /diseases when the body fights its own self .

.. that unfortunately, such people also get seriously ill once an illness hits them given their long spells of good health which could also limit their immune systems from interacting and getting familiar with many of the bugs in everyday life.

I also learnt that uric acid accumulates in the body in the blood and even joints from excessive consumption of red meats with liver, and internal organs such as ‘matumbo’ being the worst in uric acid generation in the body.

Uric acid can make the blood ‘heavy’ leading to other health complications including worsening hypertension. Uric acid accumulation also leads to gout among other joints illnesses. High uric acid levels in the blood also cause other health problems such as headaches, chest pains and difficulties in breathing with chest examinations revealing no evident chest problems and no pain & congestion cause.

Dr Wambui also discussed other bone diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis saying that the diseases worsen in cold seasons.

Most of the joint diseases result from ‘wearing off’ of the joints cartridges (from old age or poor feeding) or ‘Sinovio membranes’ just as happens when the mucus membranes wear off in the stomach or intestinal canal due to other abdominal diseases or poor feeding.                               Fortunately, Dr Wambui promised treatment that can fully restore both types of the membranes.
