Dynamic culture and & the wonders of names

Decades ago and among my people, the Agikuyu, children’s naming formulae was straightforward….
Parents named their children after their parents and siblings depending on the children’s sex statuses and birth positions…
The naming did not consider any spiritual aspects such as misfortunes or challenges that even today tend to automatically follow present day carriers of the names like photocopies from the original name carriers….
However, things seem to have changed dramatically today with many parents having gone digital in naming their children…
Many modern-day parents today keenly scan names on digital platforms seeking suitable names for their children without caring about anything else…
Culture has evolved and is not regarded highly anymore so I was recently excited to watch a news clip about a girl named Excellent Wanjiku..
Excellent was one of the children who recently got financial and material support after passing well at grade 9 and later lacking resources that would enable her to transition into senior school somewhere in Nakuru County.
Excellent was delighted with the help and confidently and excellently appreciated the help and wished the good Samaritans  God’s blessings…. 😊
Her response was excellently excellent 😊🙏🏿.
