How do you express your feelings for instance to show excitement, dismay or anger among others?
How do you express your feelings for instance to show excitement, dismay or anger among others?
In self reflection and introspection earlier today, I recalled and thought of an incident many years ago.
The results for primary schools then had been announced a while back and i met a certain lady from my then village along the footpaths.
She knew i had sat for the exams that year given that one of her children was also that exam’s candidate.
She asked me how i had performed and when i revealed the results to her, given that my score was one of the best in my school then, her response was an exclamation, “Bikira Maria”…..
… I didn’t think much about that exclamation then but when I recalled the incident today, i just wondered whether the exclamation was necessary unless it was meant to be a lamentation over the good performance.
.
.Times have changed and fast forward to today, the lady would perhaps have exclaimed, “Congrats Nganga.”
Perhaps she would have shaken my hand or even hugged me in excitement or taken from her wallet a one hundred shillings note and said “kunyua soda.”

.

.Or perhaps she would have uttered, “ohhhh, that’s good.
Yet, i can’t tell why I had to recall the incident today
